Water & National Resources in Sudan

  The Renaissance Dam In 1904 a study was conducted by the United States Bureau of reclamation. The study identified 26 sites for constructing dams in Ethiopia. The most important site was the current Renaissance Dam project, which located on Alabaly River, the largest river in Ethiopia .  The incoming water was estimated by 25 billion cubic meters, the Dam is situated just about 20 km from the Sudanese border in Bani Shangol Region.     s-snbsp; Khartoum, Sept.7 (SUNA)-The National Assemblys-srsquo;s Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which is chaired by Dr Mohamed Mukhtar discussed with a delegation from British Embassy in Khartoum arrangements for visit of a delegation of British House of Lords,- Baroness Cox group- s-snbsp;to Sudan next Sunday. s-snbsp; s-snbsp;The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Assemblys-srsquo;s Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mutawakil Al-Tegani s-snbsp;s-snbsp;and Head of Europe Subcommittee, Hayat Adam Abdul-Rahim. s-snbsp; s-snbsp;Mutawakils-snbsp; welcomed visits-snbsp; of the British delegation , disclosing that s-snbsp;the s-snbsp;Baroness Cox groups-snbsp; concerns with Sudan and South Sudan affair ands-snbsp; would visit Sudans-snbsp; for the first time. s-snbsp; s-snbsp;Hes-snbsp; said thats-snbsp; the visit comes at request of the group and falls withins-snbsp; the s-snbsp;program-Come and See-adopted by the National Assembly , adding that the visit would avail opportunity for the delegations-snbsp; to sees-snbsp; the situations in Sudans-snbsp; and ins-snbsp; Darfurs-snbsp; in particular. s-snbsp; The Deputy Chairman s-snbsp;of the National Assemblys-srsquo;s Foreign Affairs Committee s-snbsp;further that the the delegation of the British House of Lords will meet the Speaker of the National Assembly and s-snbsp;senior government officials , besides visiting North Darfur State wheres-snbsp; the delegation will meet the state government , community and native s-snbsp;administration leaders as well as visiting Abu Shuk Camp fors-snbsp; displaced people. s-snbsp; s-snbsp;Head of Europe Subcommittee, Hayat Adam said thes-snbsp; group is knowing of opposing Sudan inside the British House of Lordss-snbsp; and knowna s Baroness Cox Group, disclosing that one of aim of the visit to stand on thes-snbsp; UNAMID projectss-snbsp; funded by British government s-snbsp;in addition to other projects.
